Leafless trees: Ten poems

I chopped firewood
In a forest

Of bare trees

~~

How many fallen leaves
Would it take
For my autumn to come?

~~

The scent of paper flowers
Spreads the fragrance
Of an unwritten life

~~

Give me memories
To take back
I need something to forget

~~

Virginal stillness
Walks
With legs crossed

~~

We held hands
Nails
Left lines of destiny

~~

Past midnight
I mistake the yellow lamp
For sunlight

~~

I melt in the
Afternoon heat
You only get wax to eat

~~

I cried in the wee hours of morn
To give the pillow
A reason to start the day with

~~

Come to me
Forever
Before even forever decides to leave

Would you mind if I were to quote some of these...?

Would you mind telling me who wishes to quote some of these? Fair, isn't it? I need to have some handle on an identity -- initials, nick, even a number...And where would you quote these?

I am assuming you like them a bit, so will there be canned 'wah-wahs'?

And if you plan to use them as an example of 'How not to write', then will you pass me the hanky, please?

PS: You did not expect such a long reply, did you?

*sigh* The mystique of anonymity does not sit well with you, does it? Very well, call me T.

Yes, i do like them, but there might not be too many ecstatic "wah-wahs" (excluding mine, ofcourse), seeing how I won't really be show-casing them; I happen to be in the midst of an abysmal attempt at writing a story, and one or two of those poems seemed to be the perfect remedy for some truly constipated bits (the result of cripppling writer's block). No one will be reading the thing any time soon, if at all...
yes yes "quote" was an outrageous euphemism for plaigarise...the question still stands though. My marvellously scruplous conscience would not let me rest easy without at least a grudging nod.

outdid your length, hee hee.

You want to plagiarise? And you are seeking permission for it? How precious and how charming!

May I suggest a remedy for writer's block? If you like something just keep looking at it for long till it disappears and replace it with words...

I thought you would quote me as in saying, "These words of Eliot (replace that fellow with FV)woke him up from numbness as he shuffled into his slippers..." Now take it up from there.

More seriously, what if I do compile my po'ms? Then you will have copyright issues...T-hee.

PS: Are you the one on 'Akeli'?

First of all, does it disappoint you that all those anonymous posts turned out to the work of one perosn, not multiple enthusiasts? Must be a let down...

The only reason I am asking permission, so to say, is that as I am accountable only to myself for the story, it would be kind of bad not to have a clear conscience. And as I am almosy certainly not publishing, copyright would not be an issue. Wolud it kill you to give a straight answer?

If i were to make any one object the focus of my unadulterated attention for any sustained period of time, it would most likely return in my dreams, not my writing. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

It takes a lot more to let me down...I asked because
1.I think it is polite (and the mystique of anonymity works only in some places, in fact any mystique has got to be rare to be precious).
2. An 'anon' came and specified that s/he was not the same as the other 'anon'.

I hope that clarifies the issue for you. I do not multi-task or multi-anything...

The suggestion was tongue-in-cheek, but thanks for a peep into how your dreams operate.

No, it does not kill me to give a straight answer...I just find it a tad cumbersome to say things like 'ok, go ahead'...as I said I may have a compilation...also, since nothing keeps you sustained for a period of time in your writings, this too shall pass and you will move on to different avenues.
