Talking to myself (On one thought)

“Would it not be nice to have just one thought?”

“Like one drop of water?”

“No, like one container.”

“A container can have things other than water and would add different flavours to it; insects could enter it.”

“What if it is closed?”

“Then it is redundant, useless.”

“The thought of it is not useless. It is comforting. It is steadfast.”

“Are thoughts static?”

“No. That is why I want one so that it can embrace all others and stop my mind from the aches and scratches.”

“Is the mind a container? And do you want it to be closed?”

“No. The mind is a drop of water that even if it evaporates becomes a part of the air I breathe. The container is this expanse that reassures me instead of overwhelming me. The horizon is not about limits but about vision. ‘As far as I can see’ means you can see further if you wish to.”

Oh farzana :) *Sigh*

Meriam:

A sigh after a smiling emo?

To skew up what the poet said:

Woh aah bhi lete hai
Aur hum ho jaate hai badnaam

Btw, it's been a while since anyone replied to my gupshupping with myself.

Oui, because I understand (I think) what you mean and everyone finds comfort in recognition no? Hence the :)

Can you please translate the urdu lines? My urdu is conversationally operational but reading and writing are lost to me unfortunately.

I hope you don't mind me intruding on your baat cheet with yourself :) As a Gemini I always have a partner to speak to but I've never found the loneliness to lessen one bit.

Meriam:

Why did I assume you'd know Urdu/Hindi?

First let me give you the full original shair:

"Hum aah bhi bharte hai to ho jate hai badnaam,
woh qatl bhi karte hai to charcha nahin hoti."

Rough trans:

I suffer ignominy if I let out a sigh
They kill and no one talks about it.

(Kind of getting away with murder)

Now, what I said essentially means:

They sigh and I gain notoriety for it! (I said I was skewing the original)

Your intrusion is just fine.

This talking to myself is really about introspecting. Incidentally, the first line is how I had ended an email and it felt like it needed exploration.

Aha, this is what that fly on the wall can hear... now, now

Fly 'on' the wall or 'in' the wall? Embedded within the fly might hear echoes too.

Just wondering why you do not use a name. Easier for me to trace the tse-tse. Perhaps you could use this as a nick...
